I loved my twists so much that I made another appointment before leaving. My second appointment was for more twists but I decided to let her trim my fro and iron it out. I was straddling the fence (fear of looking like a "bushbaby" and giddy with anticipation waiting to see what it would look like) when I sat in the chair because I tried to straighten my hair before....a disaster that was waiting to happen. I had so much smoke in the bathroom and then on top of that I blew the fuse!! I told Renee my hair didn't get straight and was crispy on the ends! Renee took her time answering all of my MANY questions and assuring me that my hair would look nice when she was done. When she finished my hair...all I could do was smile and tell her thank you over and over!!! My hair was silky, shiny and full of body!! I absolutely love my new style!

I remember our conversation when you told me that you were opening your business! I amas equally as proud of you now as I was then!! To see how you used to do hair in your Mom's home as a young teenager and to transform into a positive, strong business woman is... AMAZING! Jackie  I started my natural journey Sept '09 and living in the dmv area its so hard to find a decent natural hair care salon. I came across Essentials and decided to treat myself for christmas. From the time i walked in the door, i was greeted with excellent customer service. Before i received my shampoo and conditioner, britney took time to let me know what products she was putting in my hair and explained what is does. I was really impressed. I've never received that type of treatment. When i met LaReesha she was very personable. I went in with every intention on getting comb coils. I expressed to her in a couple of months with more length i want to get micro's. Her suggestion of kinky twist intrigued me but i was skeptical because of my short crop. She assured me, as long as she can pinch it, i had hair to work with. She gave me a sample of how it would look and i was SOLD!! Reesha was rolling because she only took about 2 hrs to finish. She educated me on how to maintain and upkeep the braids. Im so glad i upgraded my do' with such a knowledgeable stylist. My biggest thing i look for is customer service. Little things such as taking time out to explain products before placing in my hair and educating me on other options for my hair; makes a difference to me. It makes me enjoy spending my hard earned money to an establishment who makes me feel appreciated. Even though i received a discount for being a first time customer, i turned the savings into a tip because Reesha made me feel that much better to share my blessings. What really topped the cake was getting home the very next day and surprisingly finding a "thank you" card in the mail. Awesome!! In all my years of going to many different salons, I've never experienced such great service. I will DEFINITELY return and i've already spread the word to people who've complimented and stared at my hair in awe! I've already added some of those good looking weaves i seen on some of the staff to my wish list.
