I want to, wholeheartedly, treat them the way I wish to be treated. I also thrive on keeping things organized. I have over 10 years of executive experience in the government, nonprofit, and retail field. My second passion is in hair care and braiding. Since 1995, my "hustle" throughout college was styling students' hair. It then escalated to a major desire of pursuit. Years later I attended classes at P.G. Community to perfect my skills and learn new methods. This past year I have been making strides to pursue a career as a natural hair braider/stylist, while actively maintaining my managerial skills her at Essentials. So the ideal place to perfect both skills is no other than......ESSENTIALS BEAUTY SPA. What can I say.........Hmmmmm Brigida is what every salon needs sitting at their front desk. I am blessed to have her at Essentials'........Owner Alfie Powell
I enjoy being around fun positive people. Nurturing others is my strongest intuitive quality. Growing up in Columbia Maryland gave me the privilege of graduating from Hammond High School in 1985. I earned my Real Estate License May 1, 2006. Currently I am working toward graduating from Montgomery College with a A.A.S. in Interior Design with an strong interest in French and Spanish. It was a pleasure working as a Master Barber Stylist in my former profession for the pass seventeen years. Going different places and experimenting with adventurous sports or hobbies are the highlights of my life. Family, Church and work are the foundation of my life. My love for fashion inspired me to participate in two hat fashion shows. I am proud to be humbly blessed with talent, skills and a personality that allows me to adapt to different circumstances. More than 5 years as a Cosmetologist, 10 years as a Barber, and 5 years as a Master Barber, I have developed an extended customer family base. My customers tell me they appreciate my patients with their children. Co-workers and former managers have watch in amazement at my hair cutting skills. I started my training in Baltimore of 1997, moved to Washington DC/ Silver Spring, left Silver Spring and now I am in Laurel MD. While working extensively with the public I had former training as a Barbering and Cosmetology instructor. Jennea Dorsey
Jennea, originally from Dayton, Ohio, and has strong customer service skills that stem from years of experience in the fields of finance, mortage lending, and property management. As a single mother of two, she decided to trade in years of stress from corporate America, to become a professional Massage Therapist. Jennea has been "natural" for 11 years. So, she understands first hand the joys and pains of transitioning from chemical relaxers to unprocessed hair. When you arrive at Essentials, expect nothing less than first class treatment. Jennea will do her absolute best at providing hospitality and comfort. She'll even take the time to answer any questions you may have concerning styles and products. "I will always strive to make sure you feel at home and have the best shampoo experience!!" Ashley Rawlings Hello, how may I assist you today? One of things I enjoy the most in life is helping others. It can be from helping someone move a box or just making sure their day runs smoothly. Thats why I give top customer service here at Essentials. Even though I am twenty two years old, I have six years of Front Desk Receptionist experience. So, I understand the need to have things run efficiently. I am the first and last face you see when you leave here, and I make sure the each arrival and depature is met with a warm smile. I am a big hair afficionado. Even though I have no desire to pursue styling in the future, its a delight to see clients walk away with new found confidence in their hair styles. Essentials have some of the most talented artist and its a joy being surrounded by them. Temi "LadyStyles" Sokunbi
I started my education in the cosmetology field in Baltimore Maryland and finished in Charlotte NC. While in North Carolina, I worked as an assistant, which allowed me to learn more about hair care and products. I moved on to become a stylist then learning how to work with speed and learning how to retail. I moved back to the Baltimore area where I then learned my niche. A stylist I assisted for in North Carolina said that I need to know what kind of stylist I want to be. I realized that I have a passion for natural hair and weaving .Those have been my focus areas. I’ve obtained my certification in weaving and am now working in a salon which specializes in natural hair. I also love to do lash extensions and have perfected this service for you to have a glamorous natural look. I continue my education on products and new techniques so that clients can see positive hair care and styling results.
